    Cocoa Bay

    Captain’s Log – Fri 4/11/25

First thing in the morning we took the golf cart back over to Bluff House for breakfast before we had to turn the golf cart back in. Then we set out hiking the trail to go snorkeling with the rays and turtles at Cocoa Bay which we found yesterday exploring the island with the golf cart.

AMAZING!!! The marina didn’t have any squid to feed them, but an excursion charter boat had plenty enough to attract them all for everyone.

When we got back, we were contacted by friends of friends from the Two Can Sail Tribe who wanted to meet up for dinner. We had signed up for this new social media app called “Sea People”, which is like Facebook for Sailors. We had drinks in the Dollar Bar and shared sailing stories, then had probably one of the best dinners we’ve had yet on the trip. We made plans to go to No Name Cay together tomorrow to see the swimming pigs.

Mentally chanting “keep left” as I drove, we rented a golf cart to explore the island today. it’s the first time I’ve driven overseas where left is right.

First we hit Sea Grapes cafe for breakfast, then continued into New Plymouth looking at all the cute beach cottages along the way. Then we found the grocery store to stock back up on fresh items. By the time we got them put away, it was time for lunch. We drove over to the Tranquil Turtle beach bar for some scorching hot wings and a couple beers.

After lunch we went to Cocoa Bay to see the stingrays. It was beautiful, may come back with the snorkel gear tomorrow.

Making full use of our golf cart rental, we drove back to New Plymouth to have a Goombay Smash at Miss Emily’s Blue Bee Bar. Then hopped over to Pineapples Beach Bar for a couple beers and conch fritters. The DJ played a modern mashed up version of old school rap which was a hoot. We had enough of that then went to the Bluff House for dinner.

    Ocean Beach

    Captain’s Log – Wed 4/9/25

In port at Green Turtle Cay, the rain stopped mid afternoon allowing us to take a walk to the beach on the Atlantic side. We sat on a bench and just watched the waves roll in.

We had cocktails at the dollar bar, then dinner at the club.
