Captain’s Log – Sun 5/4/25
There was a swim up pool bar in the Coral section calling our name this afternoon. It was a bit cloudy from all of the storms around FL and the Bahamas which made it a little bit chilly. Hanging out at the pool bar or by the pool rather than in the pool was the ticket today. Maybe this pool is cooler because it’s deeper than the others we’ve been to. 🤷🏼♂️

The storms by the way, are the reason we’re still here. We originally planned to start heading back towards Florida today. Did not look fun.

From the pool, we could see the swinging rope bridge that we walked across the first day.

Here’s a cool video of the rays feeding in the lagoon on the other side of the Coral Pool section.
We went to dinner at Bimini Roads, a cute looking Bahamian style restaurant in the Marina Village that had live music. It looked fun, but I was pretty disappointed with my Mahi. Do not recommend.

We opted to skip dessert in favor of dessert drinks at the Dilly Club, which quickly became our favorite bar during our stay here. That is a mud slide on the left and “Another Galaxy” on the right. The latter is an espresso martini made with rum instead of vodka.

We got a super late email from the weather service saying that we could go ahead and leave tomorrow after all instead of waiting until Tuesday as they previously recommended. If I had known earlier I would’ve had the boat ready and taken it easy. As it was, I didn’t feel like getting up super early and risk crossing the Tongue of the Ocean tired and hungover. So regardless, Tuesday is still the plan.
