Captain’s Log – Mon 4/7/25
We left Manjack Cay after breakfast and slowly putted towards Green Turtle Cay, about an hour away so we could make water before getting into the harbor there. It was breezy and the dock lanes were pretty tight, but we made it in without incident. They said we were good to stay through the weekend so we’ll hunker down for the squalls coming from the passing cold front coming in the morning. There’s a second front following Friday or Saturday, then supposed to be nice next week. In between we can explore this little island paradise.
We had lunch and a couple beers at the clubhouse on this little piece of paradise.

After lunch, I helped the couple with the Distant Shores II boat get into the dock as they were having issues with the bow thruster and the wind was picking up. The boat is somewhat famous as it was used in the Distant Shores TV series. The current owners bought it from the original owners who are still filming sailing shows, now with Distant Shores IV.
The boat had blown aground, so about half a dozen of us rigged a line to the dock with a perpendicular line attached with a rolling hitch. Three of us did a tug of war with the perpendicular line while the others took up what slack we made. It took about 5 minutes but we managed to pull the boat off the sandbar. Then the lot of us climbed on board to help manage lines and rig springs to get the boat in its berth, fighting the wind. We all met later for drinks at the Dollar bar and shared cruising stories.
At the Dollar bar, we found the SPYC burgee and added a dollar to it for Hula Girl.
